In the interest of full transparency, this page discloses how gearguyapp.com intends to earn revenue through affiliate partnerships, and what is true today.
Gear Guy intends to participate in retailer affiliate programs. At present, gearguyapp.com carries no affiliate links, and we earn no commission from any retailer. If and when affiliate links are added, they will be disclosed as such, and this page will name the programs we have actually joined. Where an affiliate link is present, you would pay exactly the same price as going directly to the retailer — the commission comes from the retailer's margin, never from you.
Affiliate relationships do not influence our product recommendations, reviews, or configuration guides. We recommend products based on real-world performance, compatibility, and value — not commission rates. Today, no product we recommend carries an affiliate link at all. We will never recommend a product we wouldn't use ourselves or that we believe is poor quality, regardless of the commission available.
Affiliate links, where present, appear only on the gearguyapp.com website — in articles, buying guides, and product comparison pages. The Gear Guy App contains no affiliate links today. Should that ever change, it would be by plain link-out only: a link that opens the retailer's page in your own browser, with no tracking pixel, no record of what you tapped, and nothing about your build or your inventory transmitted. This page would be updated before any such link shipped. The App carries no analytics, no crash reporting and no behavioural telemetry.
We have applied to, or intend to apply to, affiliate programs operated by networks such as AvantLink, Awin and FlexOffers, and to direct brand programs. We are not currently an approved participant in any of them. This page will be updated to name each program once an application is approved. Under any program we join, we would receive anonymized commission reports only — never your personal information, order details, or purchase history.
